René Daniëls (1950), a dutch artist, had a large production of paintings and drawings in a very short period before his stroke. He developed at the beginning of his career a very fast technique. A painting could be done as a short note of an idea which was mainly a combination of something literal with a visual. Thus leading into enigmatic surrealistic images. A layering and combining of levels from any discipline.
It could be considered as a progress on Francis Picabia or Sigmar Polke but mainly has been origined by the dadaïstic movement. Finally resulting in the postmodernistic spirit of the eighties.
